Why does tom corbett hate teachers

We need to trust our teachers in their professional development responsibilities just as we do in the classroom. We need to set the standard high and make it very clear that we will all fall back at times — but that we will support each other as we all climb back toward that goal.

We need to think outside of the proverbial box and not be afraid to take chances or make fools of ourselves. Forty-six percent of all new teachers are leaving within the first five years of entering this profession.

Think about that — let that number sink in. We all must take responsibility in bringing that number down. I am fully aware that there is a bullseye on my back. As a teacher, this has certainly been the case for quite some time, but never has this been more obvious than in the past year or so. In actuality, it was about a mile and a quarter, and only uphill on the way there….

Make no mistake about it — this is a critical time in the lives of ALL teachers. Respect for what we do is at an all time low and people are quick to jump all over the system at the same time. So much for a need for transparency, I guess. In addition, our school board conducted its discussion meeting last night and, as can be expected, had to discuss some very grim topics.

Making the decisions to cut programs that benefit students and whether or not to furlough teachers in these economic times cannot possibly be an easy one for anybody involved. We will all be asked to do more with less — and I realize that, but we have to be fair in how we make these cuts and changes as well. We must all work together to ensure that everything is done to protect the educational experience that our students have come to rightly expect.

I hate this kind of politics. Corbett is about the least charismatic, least able communicator PA has had in a long time. Some of his policies suck. A lot of his staff are young and inexperienced. None of this makes for good govt. But it still has nothing to do with what partisans on the left accuse him of. Why should you make money providing a necessary benefit to the citizens? Are you greedy? Why not? Where is it all going? The clear implication is that a nurse was more likely to recognize the symptoms and know what to do.

The teachers are probably trained in little more than CPR, and probably not very well. They are probably told to put pressure on a wound to slow bleeding. But, ranking the severity of asthma is asking a bit much. Can someone explain how a nurse would have saved this kid? There, protesters got no glimpse of either governor.

In recent months, Christie has been traveling the country as chairman of the Republican Governors Association. Corbett, considered among the nation's most vulnerable incumbent governors, trails his Democratic challenger, Tom Wolf, by a point margin, according to a Quinnipiac University Polling Institute release last week.

Christie said the deficit was not insurmountable. Last week, Christie attended a private fund-raiser in Pittsburgh with Corbett.
